British Airways staff have voted overwhelmingly (92.5%) in favour of a 12 day strike during the Christmas and New Year period. Ballot papers have been issued to to more than 12,000 British Airways cabin crew in November and thousands have decided to strike over recent changes to employment conditions, including job cuts and pay freeze. The US carrier Delta airlines is withdrawing flights from Manchester to New York. The service that connects JFK airport to Manchester will stop on January 8.
