Virgin discusses the future of BMI with Lufthansa
December 11th, 2008 | by sergio |Virgin Atlantic has confirmed they are discussing the future of BMI British Midlands airline with BMI’s new owner, Lufthansa.
“Virgin Atlantic can confirm that it is holding talks with Lufthansa regarding the future of bmi. These discussions may or may not lead to an agreement and a further announcement will be made in due course,” the airline commented on their website.
Virgin and BMI have a complimentary route network and analysts believe the merger would be a perfect match between BMI’s short/medium routes and Virgin Atlantic’s long haul routes.
